Long before the woodland paths were marked by moss-covered stones, there was a time when the world struggled to greet the morning. Dawn arrived weak and pale, and the creatures of the forest feared that one day the sun might forget to rise altogether.

It was then that a young witch named Orielle Sunspindle climbed the highest hill in the realm and waited through the longest night. As the first ray of sunlight finally broke across the horizon, she caught it upon a silver spindle gifted by the Sunbirds of the Eastern Sky.

From that single strand of light, Orielle learned to weave the Threads of Dawn.
